Job Description
Working alongside class teachers and inclusion staff, SEND Teaching Assistants support pupils with additional needs. The focus is on providing tailored academic and emotional support, adapting tasks where needed, and helping pupils feel secure and confident in the classroom. Strong communication, patience, and consistency are essential, alongside a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
Supports pupils with SEND in lessons and structured interventions.
Works closely with teachers to adapt learning activities.
Promotes confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
Maintains safeguarding, care, and wellbeing standards.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Bring your empathy, adaptability, and commitment to championing the diverse needs of students with SEND.
Experience in providing 1:1 support to students with SEND is preferred.
An enhanced DBS check is mandatory for the safety and security of our students.
Any teaching or education qualifications would be an advantage

Our partnered school is a large special school that caters for pupils between the ages of 11 and 19 who have a range of special educational needs, such as speech, language and communication difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, social, emotional and mental health issues, and moderate or severe learning difficulties.
The school has been rated as good by Ofsted in its latest inspection in November 2022. The inspectors praised the school for its strong leadership, high-quality teaching, positive relationships, and inclusive culture.
