Job Description
Supporting pupils throughout the school day, SEND Teaching Assistants help create calm and structured learning environments. The focus is on providing tailored academic and emotional support, adapting tasks where needed, and helping pupils feel secure and confident in the classroom. Strong communication, patience, and consistency are essential, alongside a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
Supports pupils with SEND in lessons and structured interventions.
Works closely with teachers to adapt learning activities.
Promotes confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
Maintains safeguarding, care, and wellbeing standards.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Enhanced DBS check (because safety is our top priority)
Previous experience in a school setting, particularly with SEND students (your experience is priceless!)
A kind, patient, and flexible attitude with a genuine passion for supporting SEND students
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—you’ll be working with lots of different people!
The ability to work well in a team and take initiative when needed
Knowledge of strategies and resources to support SEND students (bonus points if you can bring fresh ideas to the table)
Preferred Qualifications & Experience: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Special education experience – 1 year (preferred)
Driving Licence (preferred)
