Job Description

Teaching Assistants support learning within the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher. Support may include assisting with lesson delivery, providing small group or one-to-one input, and helping to maintain effective classroom routines. Flexibility, initiative, and clear communication are key when supporting pupils of varying abilities.

Provides classroom-based support during lessons.
Delivers small group or individual interventions.
Supports classroom organisation and resources.
Encourages positive behaviour and engagement.

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Experience tutoring or teaching English (ideally to Level 2 standard) 

  • Understanding of life skills curriculum and its application 

  • Experience working with children with autism and/or anxiety 

  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach 

  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting 

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

About the School

This tutoring role is based in Coventry and requires you to work directly with two students in their home. The children are eager to learn but require a tutor who is sensitive to their emotional and behavioural needs. You'll need to adapt your teaching style to ensure lessons are both accessible and engaging, while also providing reassurance and structure.
