Job Description
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning. The focus is on providing tailored academic and emotional support, adapting tasks where needed, and helping pupils feel secure and confident in the classroom. Strong communication, patience, and consistency are essential, alongside a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
Supports pupils with SEND in lessons and structured interventions.
Works closely with teachers to adapt learning activities.
Promotes confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
Maintains safeguarding, care, and wellbeing standards.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (1-2 years minimum)
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Strong knowledge of special educational needs and relevant support strategies
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the confidence to report concerns
A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment
