Job Description
Teaching Assistants support learning within the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher. Support may include assisting with lesson delivery, providing small group or one-to-one input, and helping to maintain effective classroom routines. Flexibility, initiative, and clear communication are key when supporting pupils of varying abilities.
Provides classroom-based support during lessons.
Delivers small group or individual interventions.
Supports classroom organisation and resources.
Encourages positive behaviour and engagement.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
You’re someone who understands that in Year 2, small wins matter. You bring consistency, patience, and a calm presence that children can rely on. You’ll thrive in this role if you have: Recent experience in a KS1 classroom (Year 2 preferred). A background in supporting children with SEND or additional needs. A calm, practical approach to classroom support. Strong communication skills and the ability to work flexibly with staff and pupils. A clear understanding of safeguarding and your role in keeping children safe.
About the School
We’re working with a well-run, welcoming primary school in Meon Vale that is looking for an experienced TA to join their Year 2 team. The role is full-time and classroom-based, with a focus on supporting both whole-class learning and children with additional needs.
