Job Description
A welcoming and forward-thinking SEND school in Birmingham is looking for a SEND Classroom Buddy to join their vibrant and dedicated team. This role suits someone who thrives in a caring, hands-on environment and enjoys supporting children with diverse additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and sensory processing differences. You’ll work alongside class teachers and therapists, providing one-to-one and small group assistance that helps every child feel safe, understood, and capable of progress. Job Responsibilities:
Support pupils with sensory, social, and communication needs throughout the school day
Implement structured routines and visual supports designed by the teaching team
Encourage engagement through creative, sensory-based activities
Foster emotional regulation, independence, and positive social interaction
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience in SEND, youth work, or care-based roles (paid or voluntary)
Calm, patient, and confident in supporting varied communication styles
