Job Description
A secondary school in Coventry is seeking an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher to join their team. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who can engage students through literature, language, and creative learning while supporting strong academic outcomes.
You'll play a key role in helping students develop confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking, preparing them for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with curriculum expectations
Support pupils in developing literacy, communication, and analytical skills
Differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning needs
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to attainment outcomes
Maintain positive classroom routines and behaviour expectations
Contribute to the wider English department and school community
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching English within a secondary setting
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
Ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities
Passion for literacy, literature, and student development
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
