Job Description

A specialist setting in Worcestershire is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a small class of 10 pupils across Years 1–3. The pupils have a range of needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), so this role is ideal for someone with strong SEND experience and a calm, nurturing approach.

Key Responsibilities
Support pupils across Years 1–3 within a small specialist class
Provide classroom and small group support tailored to pupils with SLD and ASD
Assist with communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team
Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SLD

  • Previous classroom or SEND school experience

  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
