Job Description
A secondary school in Coventry is seeking a dependable and proactive Caretaker to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of the school site. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and creating a safe environment for pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the security and safety of the school premises
Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs
Ensure the site remains clean, safe, and well-presented
Conduct routine site inspections and health & safety checks
Support with contractor access and site coordination
Respond to maintenance issues efficiently and professionally
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities role
Practical maintenance and DIY skills
Knowledge of health and safety procedures
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
