Job Description
A well-run Primary school in Oxfordshire is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils as they progress through the later stages of Primary education. You’ll work with children who are developing independence but still benefit from clear guidance, reassurance, and structured support during lessons.
Your role will include providing in-class assistance, supporting small-group learning, and helping pupils break down more complex tasks into manageable steps. Some pupils may struggle with sustained focus or confidence; others benefit from encouragement to persevere and apply skills independently. You’ll help maintain a calm, purposeful classroom environment where pupils feel supported to succeed.
Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team, you’ll contribute to consistent routines and inclusive teaching approaches that support both progress and confidence. This role suits someone patient, organised, and motivated by helping pupils prepare for the transition to Secondary education.
Support KS2 pupils during lessons and learning activities.
Assist with small-group and targeted interventions.
Support focus, organisation, and task completion.
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Experience supporting Primary-aged pupils, ideally KS2.
Clear, encouraging communication style.
Confidence supporting independent learning skills.
Strong safeguarding awareness and consistent practice.
