Job Description
A specialist SEND setting in Oxfordshire is seeking a SEND Lead Practitioner to strengthen the school’s approach to inclusive learning, adaptive practice, and high-quality SEND provision. You’ll support teachers and support staff with strategies that help pupils regulate, communicate, and engage with learning at a pace that suits their needs.
Your role will include modelling effective SEND practice in classrooms, coaching staff, contributing to pupil support plans, and assisting with curriculum adaptations. You’ll also work closely with the SENDCo, therapists, and pastoral team to ensure provision remains consistent, legally compliant, and rooted in a relational, pupil-centred approach.
This role suits someone experienced, reflective, and passionate about high-quality SEND education, with the presence to influence classroom practice and the sensitivity to support staff professionally.
Model and support inclusive, adaptive teaching strategies.
Contribute to SEND support plans and intervention design.
Coach and guide teachers in SEND best practice.
Work collaboratively with SENDCo, therapy teams, and senior leaders.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Strong experience within SEND teaching or specialist support.
Confident supporting staff learning and development.
Skilled in communication, modelling, and coaching approaches.
Thorough understanding of SEND frameworks and safeguarding.
