Job Description
A specialist educational setting in Staffordshire is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to work with children and young people who require additional support to access learning and achieve positive outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, supporting personal development, and helping young people overcome barriers that may impact their education, wellbeing, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and small-group support to pupils
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Support pupils with social, emotional, and communication needs
Assist with learning activities and daily routines
Promote independence, confidence, and resilience
Work closely with teaching staff and wider support teams
Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, resilient, and supportive approach
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Experience within education, care, youth work, or support services desirable
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
