That means not every agency will be able to support work in every school.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I work in a school if my agency isn’t on the GCA Framework? It depends on the school or trust and how they are required to procure recruitment services. Some schools may need to use approved suppliers, which means your agency’s framework status could affect the opportunities available to you.
Is Milestone Education on the GCA Framework? Yes. Milestone Education is approved through the RM6376 GCA Framework.
Why does the GCA matter to me as a candidate? Because if a school has to use approved agencies, your agency’s framework status could affect whether they can put you forward for work there.
Will my current agency know if I speak to Milestone? Not at enquiry stage. If you tell us where you want to work or ask about your options, we won’t contact your current agency just because you’ve spoken to us. If you decide to register with Milestone and we need a reference from your current or previous agency, we’ll talk to you about that first so you know exactly what is being requested and when.
What happens after I tell you where I want to work? One of our team will review your preferences, speak to you about your experience and availability, and explain the next steps if Milestone may be able to support you.
Can I work with Milestone and still work with another agency? Yes. Many candidates work with more than one agency. We’ll focus on the opportunities that are right for you and keep communication clear.
What if I’ve had a bad agency experience before? Tell us. It helps us understand what matters to you, what you want to avoid and what kind of support would make your next placement better.
Will I have to complete registration again? Yes, we’ll need to complete our own registration and compliance process. Every agency has to complete its own checks, but we’ll make it as straightforward as possible.
Can I tell Milestone which schools I want to work in? Yes. Use the form to tell us the schools, trusts or areas you’re interested in, and our team will talk you through what may be possible.
What actually is the GCA Framework? The simple version: some schools and trusts now use an approved list of recruitment agencies when booking education staff. Milestone Education is on that approved list.
Do I have to leave my current agency? No. You don’t have to leave your current agency to speak to Milestone or explore your options. Lots of candidates register with more than one agency, especially if different agencies can access different schools. If references are needed as part of registration, we’ll explain that process clearly before anything is requested.
Is this only about September work? No. September is a busy time, but you can speak to us about day-to-day supply, long-term roles, permanent opportunities or future work at any point in the year.
Can I register now even if I’m not ready to move yet? Yes. You can tell us where you’d like to work and when you may be available, so we can keep you in mind for the right opportunities.
What makes Milestone different from other agencies? We take time to understand where you want to work, what kind of setting suits you and what support you need. We don’t want to send you somewhere just to fill a gap. We want the placement to make sense for you and the school.
I already have a DBS. Will that help? Yes, it may help, especially if it’s on the Update Service. We’ll still need to check the details and confirm what else is required before you can work through Milestone.
