Job Description
A specialist school in Worcestershire is seeking a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and enjoys working as part of a dedicated, supportive team.
You'll play a vital role in helping pupils access education, develop key life skills, and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of SEND needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assist with classroom learning and differentiated activities
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation
Support pupils' communication, social, and emotional development
Work closely with teachers and wider support staff to deliver personalised learning
Help implement individual support plans and learning strategies
Promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing
Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous SEND experience
Classroom or teaching experience within an educational setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
