Job Description
A supportive Secondary school in Warwickshire is seeking a Learning Mentor to work with pupils who need additional guidance to stay engaged with learning. You’ll support students whose confidence, motivation, or organisation may be affecting their progress, particularly during periods of increased academic demand.
Your role will include providing in-class support, offering structured 1:1 mentoring sessions, and helping pupils develop practical strategies for focus and independence. Some students may struggle to manage workload or remain motivated; others benefit from having learning clarified and broken into manageable steps. You’ll help pupils reframe challenges and build confidence in their ability to succeed.
Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you’ll contribute to consistent mentoring approaches that support both academic engagement and emotional wellbeing. This role suits someone calm, encouraging, and confident building relationships that help pupils stay connected to learning.
Provide learning-focused mentoring to Secondary pupils.
Support engagement, motivation, and organisation.
Offer structured 1:1 guidance during challenging periods.
Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Experience supporting Secondary-aged pupils or young people.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence supporting motivation and learning behaviours.
Strong safeguarding awareness and consistent practice.
