Job Description
A specialist SEND school in Coventry is seeking a Safeguarding Manager to lead its day-to-day safeguarding processes and ensure every child’s wellbeing remains at the heart of decision-making. You’ll work with pupils who may face vulnerabilities linked to communication differences, complex needs, or home circumstances, providing a steady, structured response to concerns.
Your role will include triaging and recording safeguarding issues, coordinating multi-agency communication, supporting staff with reporting concerns, and ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks. You’ll also contribute to training, policy updates, and whole-school safeguarding culture.
This position requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, manage sensitive information with absolute reliability, and guide staff confidently through safeguarding expectations. You’ll be a key figure in making sure pupils feel safe, understood, and protected at school.
Lead daily safeguarding operations and referral processes.
Coordinate multi-agency communication and follow-up actions.
Maintain accurate, compliant safeguarding records.
Support staff understanding of procedures and reporting duties.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Experience in safeguarding, pastoral, or child protection roles.
Strong understanding of statutory safeguarding frameworks.
Calm, professional communication style.
High levels of discretion, accuracy, and emotional resilience.
