Job Description
A specialist educational setting in Sandwell is seeking a compassionate and resilient Outreach Worker to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, SEND, Autism (ASC), and behavioural challenges. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping pupils develop the confidence, resilience, and life skills needed to succeed in education and beyond.
Working closely with teachers, families, and external agencies, you'll deliver personalised support both in and around the school environment, ensuring pupils receive the guidance they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored outreach support to pupils with SEMH, SEND, ASC, and behavioural needs
Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement and emotional wellbeing
Deliver 1:1 interventions to support attendance, behaviour, and personal development
Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and successfully engage with education
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers, and external professionals
Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes
Promote independence, resilience, and positive decision-making
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and ensure pupil welfare at all times
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Experience in education, youth work, family support, or social care
Knowledge of restorative practice or trauma-informed approaches
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability to motivate and inspire disengaged learners
Flexible and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs
