Job Description
A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced SENDCo to join its leadership team. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher with a passion for inclusion who can lead SEND provision, support colleagues, and ensure every pupil receives the personalised support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
Ensure high-quality support for pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech & Language Needs, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties
Oversee the implementation, review, and monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Work closely with teachers to develop inclusive classroom practice and effective interventions
Monitor pupil progress and evaluate the impact of SEND provision
Liaise effectively with parents, carers, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary professionals
Lead annual reviews and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
Support staff development through coaching, guidance, and training
Contribute strategically as part of the wider leadership team
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous experience working as a SENDCo or in a SEND leadership role
Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
Experience supporting pupils with a wide range of SEND
Strong understanding of EHCPs and multi-agency working
Excellent organisational, leadership, and case management skills
Ability to analyse data and use evidence to improve outcomes
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Outstanding leadership and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to inspire, coach, and develop colleagues
Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset
Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement
Graduate-level professional or equivalent experience welcomed
Ambitious and motivated to build a long-term leadership career within education
