Job Description
A nurturing Primary school in Warwickshire is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children in the early stages of their school journey. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to help pupils develop confidence, communication skills, and positive learning routines through play-based and structured activities.
Your role will include supporting early literacy and numeracy, encouraging social interaction, and helping children manage transitions throughout the day. Some pupils may need reassurance separating from caregivers; others benefit from gentle guidance to follow routines and engage with activities. You’ll help create a calm, welcoming environment where children feel safe to explore, try, and learn.
Working as part of the EYFS team, you’ll support both emotional development and early learning progress. This role suits someone patient, attentive, and passionate about supporting children at the very start of their education.
Support children during EYFS learning and play activities.
Assist with early literacy. numeracy. and communication development.
Support routines. transitions. and positive behaviour.
Work collaboratively with EYFS staff and the wider team.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Experience supporting children in Early Years or EYFS settings.
Warm. nurturing communication style.
Confidence supporting early childhood development.
Strong safeguarding awareness and consistent practice.
