Job Description
A specialist SEND setting in Warwickshire is seeking dedicated SEMH Pathways Support Assistants to support young people with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and additional learning needs. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who can build strong relationships, remain calm under pressure, and inspire pupils to overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, you'll help deliver personalised interventions that prepare pupils not only for success in education but also for life beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH, Autism (ASC), and additional learning needs
Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and engagement
Support pupils to access learning and develop emotional regulation strategies
Encourage independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
Deliver interventions that develop communication, social, and life skills
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external professionals
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual support plans
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Excellent rapport and relationship-building skills
Calm, resilient, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
