Job Description
As Behaviour Mentor, you will support pupils with behaviour and SEMH needs across the school day, from lessons to social times. You will de-escalate incidents, run short intervention sessions, model positive choices, and record key information. Working closely with teachers and the pastoral team, you will help embed behaviour plans so pupils feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support identified pupils 1:1 and in small groups to improve behaviour and engagement.
Implement behaviour plans and restorative approaches agreed with staff.
Monitor and record behaviour patterns, triggers, and effective strategies.
Liaise regularly with teachers, pastoral staff, and, where appropriate, external professionals.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Experience supporting children or young people with behaviour or SEMH needs in education or youth settings.
Confident using de-escalation techniques and maintaining calm boundaries.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and accurate record-keeping skills.
Committed to following school policies, safeguarding expectations, and ongoing CPD.
