Job Description

A school in Birmingham is seeking a committed 1:1 SEMH Support Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role is ideal for someone patient, resilient, and confident supporting pupils who may struggle with engagement, emotional regulation, or behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 SEMH support
Support pupils with emotional regulation and engagement
Build positive and consistent relationships
Assist pupils in accessing classroom learning
Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Ability to build trust and rapport quickly

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
