Job Description

A thriving primary school in Warwickshire is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking School Business Manager to join its Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong commercial awareness and excellent leadership skills to oversee the school's business operations and help drive continuous improvement.

Working alongside the Executive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the strategic management of finance, administration, HR, facilities, compliance, ICT, and health and safety, ensuring the school operates efficiently while delivering excellent value for money.

Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
Lead the school's finance function, including budgeting, financial planning, monitoring, and income generation
Manage and develop administrative support teams to ensure operational excellence
Oversee HR administration, payroll, recruitment processes, and staff development
Lead on GDPR compliance, management information systems, and business processes
Oversee premises, facilities, catering, ICT, health & safety, and contractor management
Manage supplier contracts and ensure value for money across all services
Support long-term strategic planning, school improvement, and organisational development
Present reports and recommendations to senior leaders and governors where required

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Experience working within an educational setting

  • Knowledge of school finance systems and education compliance

  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify efficiencies and income opportunities

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Ability to lead change and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Confident decision-maker with excellent attention to detail
