Job Description
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic KS1 PPA Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. This role is perfect for a passionate teacher who enjoys variety, can quickly build positive relationships with pupils, and is committed to delivering engaging lessons that maintain continuity of learning.
Working across Key Stage 1, you'll provide high-quality PPA cover while creating a positive classroom environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 1 during teachers' PPA time
Plan and deliver learning in line with the National Curriculum where required
Maintain continuity of learning and high classroom standards
Create an inclusive, positive, and stimulating learning environment
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
Assess pupil understanding and provide effective feedback to teaching staff
Maintain excellent behaviour management and positive classroom routines
Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team
Uphold safeguarding and promote pupil wellbeing at all times
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1
Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Flexible and adaptable approach to teaching across different classes
Strong communication and organisational skills
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Experience delivering high-quality PPA cover
Creative and engaging teaching style
Strong planning and assessment skills
Positive, proactive, and collaborative approach
Passion for helping every child achieve their full potential
