Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys working closely with children to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Working alongside experienced teachers, you'll play an important role in creating a positive classroom environment where every child feels supported, valued, and inspired to learn.

Key Responsibilities
Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities
Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals
Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Support safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children within a school or educational setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

  • Patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach

  • Commitment to supporting children's learning and development

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

  • Experience providing 1:1 or small group support

  • Knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous

  • Excellent teamwork and organisational skills

  • Positive, proactive, and nurturing approach

  • Passion for helping children achieve their full potential
