Job Description
Working closely with pupils and staff, Teaching Assistants help maintain engagement and progress. Support may include assisting with lesson delivery, providing small group or one-to-one input, and helping to maintain effective classroom routines. Flexibility, initiative, and clear communication are key when supporting pupils of varying abilities.
Provides classroom-based support during lessons.
Delivers small group or individual interventions.
Supports classroom organisation and resources.
Encourages positive behaviour and engagement.

This Wolverhampton-based role is an opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school. You will work with pupils facing social, emotional, and mental health needs, supporting them to engage with learning and develop essential life skills. Each day, you’ll provide 1:1 and small-group support, focusing on behaviour regulation, self-confidence, and resilience. You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure that pupils are able to access the curriculum in a safe and supportive way. The role is both challenging and deeply rewarding, offering the chance to see real progress in young people’s academic and personal journeys.
