Job Description
A specialist SEND school in Warwickshire is seeking a SEND Support Assistant to support pupils whose learning and wellbeing are closely linked to emotional regulation, routine, and trust. You’ll work with children who benefit from steady adult presence and clear guidance throughout the school day.
Your role will include providing in-class support, helping pupils manage transitions, and offering reassurance during moments of dysregulation. Some pupils may need help understanding expectations or processing change; others benefit from having learning tasks broken into clear, manageable steps. You’ll support engagement without pressure, encouraging independence at a pace that feels achievable.
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEND team, you’ll help deliver consistent support strategies that prioritise safety, inclusion, and meaningful progress. This role suits someone patient, observant, and confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
Support pupils with SEND during lessons and routines.
Provide calm guidance during emotional or sensory challenges.
Assist with transitions and classroom engagement.
Work collaboratively with teaching and SEND teams.
