Job Description
A school in Oxfordshire is seeking a nurturing and dedicated EYFS SEND Support Assistant to work with young children requiring additional support within the Early Years Foundation Stage. This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of early intervention and is passionate about helping children develop essential social, emotional, and learning skills.
Working closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals, you'll provide personalised support that helps children engage, communicate, and thrive within a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support children with SEND needs within an EYFS setting
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
Encourage communication, social interaction, and emotional development
Assist with classroom activities and structured play-based learning
Support the implementation of individual learning and support plans
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous experience supporting children within EYFS or SEND settings
Understanding of child development and early years learning
Patient, caring, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
Commitment to inclusion and child-centred support
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
