Job Description

A busy Primary school in Birmingham South is seeking a Premises Officer to support the upkeep, safety, and day-to-day running of the school site. You’ll play a vital role in making sure the building, grounds, and facilities remain clean, secure, and ready for learning every day.

Your role will involve carrying out minor repairs, health and safety checks, site security, and set-up tasks for classrooms and school events. You’ll work proactively to identify maintenance needs, respond to issues promptly, and support contractors visiting the site. Some days will require independence and initiative; others involve working closely with the School Business Manager or Site Manager to ensure compliance is met.

This role suits someone practical, reliable, and confident taking ownership of tasks that keep the school safe and operational.

Carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and site checks.
Support site security, including unlocking and locking routines.
Monitor health and safety standards across the school.
Assist with classroom, hall, and event set-ups.
