Job Description

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Warwickshire is seeking a reliable and proactive Part-Time Caretaker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys maintaining high standards across a busy school environment.

Working closely with the leadership team, you'll help ensure the school site is safe, clean, and fully operational, contributing to a positive experience for the entire school community.

Key Responsibilities
Open, secure, and monitor the school premises as required
Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and basic DIY tasks
Ensure the school site remains clean, safe, and well-presented
Complete regular health and safety checks and report any concerns
Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for school events and activities
Liaise with external contractors and service providers when required
Monitor site security and respond appropriately to maintenance issues
Support the school in maintaining compliance with health and safety procedures

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site management role

  • Good practical DIY and maintenance skills

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and organised approach

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

  • Experience working within a school or educational setting

  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs

  • Positive, proactive attitude

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
