Job Description
A specialist SEND school in Worcestershire is seeking a SEND Support Assistant to work with pupils who benefit from consistent routines, sensory-aware strategies, and patient guidance during learning activities. You’ll support children whose needs span communication differences, emotional regulation challenges, and sensory processing barriers.
Your role will include providing 1:1 and small-group support, using visual prompts, assisting with transitions, and helping pupils stay engaged at a pace that works for them. Some children may require learning broken into smaller stages; others need calm modelling and reassurance to remain settled and confident. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils feel safe enough to learn, explore, and take part.
You’ll work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider SEND team to deliver consistent, relationship-led support. This role suits someone compassionate, observant, and confident supporting pupils with a wide range of needs.
Provide 1:1 and small-group SEND support.
