Job Description

A specialist SEND school in Warwickshire is seeking a Learning Support Mentor to work with pupils who need additional guidance to access learning confidently. You’ll support children whose engagement may be affected by anxiety, low confidence, or difficulties sustaining focus within the classroom.

Your role will include providing in-class mentoring, supporting small-group learning sessions, and offering reassurance during moments where learning feels challenging. Some pupils may need help organising tasks or understanding expectations; others benefit from encouragement and calm guidance to persist and build independence over time.

Working closely with teachers, SEND staff, and pastoral colleagues, you’ll help implement consistent support strategies that prioritise emotional safety and learning readiness. This role suits someone patient, reflective, and motivated by helping pupils feel capable and supported in their learning journey.

Provide learning-focused mentoring and support.
Support pupils with engagement, confidence, and organisation.
Offer calm guidance during lessons and transitions.
Work collaboratively with teaching and SEND teams.

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs.

  • Clear, supportive communication style.

  • Confidence supporting learning at an individual pace.

  • Strong safeguarding awareness and consistent practice.
