Job Description
Milestone Education is seeking experienced and compassionate SEND 1:1 Support Teaching Assistants to work across specialist educational settings in Coventry. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and who can provide consistent, personalised support to help pupils access learning and thrive within the school environment.
You'll work closely with teaching staff and support teams, providing tailored assistance that enables pupils to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
Support pupils to access learning activities and engage in the classroom
Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
Assist with social, emotional, and communication development
Implement individual support plans and learning strategies
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or SEMH Teaching Assistant
Strong understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
