Job Description

Milestone Education is seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work across specialist educational settings throughout Oxfordshire. Opportunities are available on a daily supply, temporary, and permanent basis, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a rewarding career supporting children with additional needs.

Working alongside teachers, SENDCos, therapists, and families, you'll help create inclusive learning environments where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND) to access learning and achieve their individual goals
Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles
Promote pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development
Support positive behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
Assist with personal care and medical needs where required
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SEND team
Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Uphold safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities at all times

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND

  • Understanding of a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families

  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
