Job Description

A primary school in Coventry is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating positive learning experiences, supporting child development, and helping young learners build confidence from the very start of their educational journey.

Working closely with teaching staff, you'll provide classroom support while helping children develop key social, emotional, and learning skills in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities
Support teaching and learning within the EYFS classroom
Assist with structured learning activities and play-based learning
Provide support for children with SEND needs
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions where required
Support children's social, emotional, and communication development
Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
Work collaboratively with teachers and wider support staff

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Previous EYFS experience

  • Classroom-based experience within a school setting

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Patient, nurturing, and proactive approach

  • Ability to support children with a range of learning needs

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
