Job Description
A supportive Primary school in Coventry is seeking a Learning Mentor to work with pupils who benefit from additional encouragement and guidance to stay engaged with learning. You’ll support children whose confidence, focus, or emotional readiness may impact their participation in lessons.
Your role will include providing in-class support, offering short 1:1 mentoring check-ins, and helping pupils approach learning tasks with greater confidence. Some children may hesitate to start work independently; others benefit from reassurance and structured encouragement when learning feels challenging. You’ll help pupils build positive learning habits without pressure or judgement.
Working closely with class teachers and the SEND team, you’ll contribute to consistent mentoring strategies that support both engagement and wellbeing. This role suits someone patient, encouraging, and motivated by helping pupils believe in their ability to succeed.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Experience supporting Primary-aged pupils.
Warm, encouraging communication style.
Confidence supporting motivation and engagement.
Strong safeguarding awareness and consistent practice.
