Job Description
A supportive Secondary school in Solihull is seeking an Academic Support Assistant to help pupils access learning and keep pace with academic expectations. You’ll support students who may understand concepts but struggle with organisation, confidence, or applying learning independently.
Your role will include providing in-class academic support, reinforcing key learning points, and helping pupils break tasks into manageable steps. Some pupils benefit from structured guidance to stay focused; others need reassurance to persist when work feels challenging. You’ll help pupils build confidence through clarity and consistency rather than pressure.
Working closely with subject teachers, tutors, and the SEND team, you’ll support targeted academic strategies that complement classroom teaching. This role suits someone organised, patient, and motivated by helping pupils strengthen understanding and confidence in their learning.

Reinforce learning objectives and key concepts.
Support organisation, study habits, and task completion.

Desired Experience + Qualifications

Confidence supporting academic learning and organisation.
Strong safeguarding awareness and consistent practice.
