Job Description
A primary school in Worcestershire is seeking a dedicated Education Support Assistant to support pupils accessing a sensory pathway provision. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and understands the importance of creating calm, supportive environments that help pupils regulate, engage, and thrive.
Working closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals, you'll help pupils develop confidence, communication skills, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils accessing sensory-based learning provision
Assist with emotional regulation and sensory strategies
Deliver 1:1 and small group support sessions
Encourage engagement, communication, and independence
Work closely with teachers and SEND staff to implement support plans
Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing
Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Desired Experience + Qualifications
Previous experience supporting children with SEND needs desirable
Understanding of sensory processing and emotional regulation strategies
Patient, calm, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families
Commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
