Job Description
We’re on the lookout for a confident and compassionate Behaviour Buddy to join a forward-thinking school in Birmingham North. You’ll work closely with children who need extra guidance managing emotions, staying focused, and re-engaging with learning. This isn’t about discipline — it’s about connection. You’ll use restorative approaches, positive reinforcement, and clear communication to help pupils build trust and resilience. The school’s wellbeing-led culture means you’ll never face challenges alone; regular debriefs, mentoring, and team collaboration are central to their approach. You’ll be part of a setting where inclusion is visible in every interaction and where progress is measured by moments of growth, not just academic milestones. For someone who’s calm under pressure and motivated by change, this role offers both fulfilment and professional development.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide daily pastoral and behavioural support to identified pupils
Deliver interventions that build self-regulation and positive engagement
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to maintain consistent strategies
Encourage pupils to take ownership of their learning and behaviour
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience working with children displaying challenging behaviour or SEND
Skilled in de-escalation, active listening, and relationship building
Emotionally resilient with a calm, solution-focused attitude
A passion for supporting young people’s emotional and academic growth
