Job Description

As a Behaviour Buddy you will work closely with pupils who need an extra layer of guidance reassurance and structure to access learning successfully. This is a deeply relationship driven role where patience emotional consistency and a clear approach to routines make a huge difference. You will support pupils through transitions regulate low level behaviours and help them understand expectations with kindness and clarity.

Your day will involve working both in class and in short targeted breakout sessions focusing on emotional literacy problem solving and positive habit building. You will work alongside the class teacher SENCo and pastoral leads to ensure each child receives tailored support that helps them feel safe valued and ready to learn. This role suits someone who is steady under pressure skilful at reading pupil emotions and confident enough to take initiative when situations shift quickly. You will be trained in the school’s behaviour framework and contribute to strategies that build long term independence and self regulation for vulnerable learners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour routines in class
Run targeted sessions focused on confidence resilience and communication
Model calm consistent behaviour expectations at all times
Work with teachers and pastoral leads to adapt strategies for individual pupils
Provide safe supportive supervision during transitions and unstructured times
