Job Description
This role is designed for someone who wants to make a direct impact on pupils who struggle with emotional regulation and behaviour linked to underlying SEND needs. As a Behaviour Support Mentor you will work within a Wolverhampton WS2 specialist setting that prioritises dignity respect and tailored interventions over punitive responses. You will support pupils through everyday routines helping them recognise triggers, apply coping strategies and rebuild confidence after moments of overwhelm.
You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists and senior support leads to ensure that every response is consistent, relational and rooted in understanding behaviour as communication. Your role may include supporting de-escalation, guiding pupils through sensory breaks, facilitating structured movement, and helping pupils return to learning calmly. This is a school that values initiative and patience — perfect for someone who wants hands-on experience while learning advanced behavioural practice.
Every day provides opportunities to create small wins: a calmer transition, a breakthrough with communication, or a pupil feeling proud of their choices. This is purposeful work where impact is visible and meaningful.
