Job Description

As a Calm Spaces Mentor you will support pupils with autism ADHD sensory differences and emotional regulation needs across a welcoming SEND provision. Your role centres on helping pupils access learning through calm routines sensory strategies and clear predictable communication.

You will spend time both in class and in designated calm spaces guiding pupils through sensory breaks visual supports communication tools and gentle coaching during moments of dysregulation. You will also assist pupils in re-entering lessons with confidence after taking time to regulate. This position is well suited to someone who is patient reflective and attuned to how each child communicates their needs.

You will work closely with teachers therapists and the SENCo to deliver personalised learning and regulation plans. Every day offers the opportunity to help a pupil feel safe valued and able to move forward emotionally and academically. This is meaningful purposeful work that has real impact.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Guide pupils through sensory regulation routines
Deliver short one to one or small group sessions in calm spaces
Support communication using AAC visuals and simplified language
Assist teachers in adapting tasks for accessibility and comfort
Provide gentle coaching during transitions and dysregulated moments
