Job Description
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in child-led, nurturing environments and understands the importance of early intervention in learning. As an Early Years Learning Partner, you'll work closely with Reception and Nursery pupils to build communication, independence, and social confidence. You’ll provide tailored support during indoor and outdoor provision, lead small group sessions, and contribute to the wider classroom environment with creativity, structure, and initiative. The school wants someone who brings warmth, curiosity, and patience — not just supervision. You’ll be collaborating with teaching staff, assisting with observations, and supporting play-based learning that meets children at their developmental stage. This is a hands-on post with room to grow into HLTA or specialist roles over time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support early development through structured play and small-group activities
Adapt resources and approaches for varied learning needs
Assist teachers with classroom routines and observations
Promote positive behaviour and peer interactions
Communicate with staff about pupil progress and needs
Contribute to outdoor and sensory learning spaces
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience in EYFS or Key Stage 1 is preferred but not essential
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to follow structured plans and use initiative
A calm, encouraging approach to behaviour and engagement
Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable, but school is open to training the right person
About the School
This Coventry-based primary school has a strong reputation for nurturing early confidence and independence. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, it places genuine value on community partnerships and early years enrichment. The leadership team invests in high-quality support staff and encourages tailored approaches for every learner, particularly in Reception and Nursery. Their EYFS provision is well-resourced, play-rich, and supported by an experienced SEN and pastoral team. The school places emphasis on inclusive language, outdoor provision, and responsive teaching methods, especially for children developing speech, independence, and early literacy. Staff here often comment on the supportive culture, flexible professional development, and the leadership’s commitment to staff wellbeing. This isn’t a school where support staff feel like an afterthought — your input genuinely shapes children’s daily experience and readiness for learning.
