Job Description
A dynamic secondary school in the Oxford area is seeking an adaptable and reliable Cover Supervisor to support classes across a range of subjects. You’ll bring strong behaviour‑management skills, flexibility to move between different school environments and ideally a subject specialism (e.g., science, geography) to help maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise lessons following the teacher’s plan, ensuring pupils stay on task
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive, inclusive learning climate
Adapt quickly to different classes, year groups and subject areas
Support transitions, collect completed work and provide feedback or reports to teaching staff
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience working in a secondary classroom environment (cover supervision, teaching assistant or equivalent)
Excellent behaviour‑management skills and presence when leading a class
Flexibility and confidence to adapt to varied school settings and subject areas
Ideally a subject specialism (e.g., science, geography) preferred
Strong communication and organisational abilities
