Job Description
This role is perfect if you love hands-on, creative, and child-centred learning. As an Early Years Learning Partner, you’ll support Reception and Nursery pupils in a Coventry primary school where play-based exploration, communication development, and emotional security drive the curriculum. You’ll help create structured yet playful routines that support speech, language, early writing, sensory skills, and social interaction. This isn’t a general classroom assistant role—you’ll co-facilitate small-group activities, deliver targeted interventions, and support individual pupils with additional needs. The school embraces outdoor learning, early literacy blocks, and daily exploratory play. You’ll work with teaching staff to reinforce routines that help children develop independence, resilience, and early academic readiness. If you enjoy blending creativity, patience, and structure, this role gives you space to be actively involved rather than just observing. You’ll also gain access to training in phonics, early development milestones, and inclusive strategies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support teacher-led and play-based learning activities
Deliver early phonics, communication, and counting support
Assist with toileting, transitions, and sensory routines
Help manage small groups and individual pupils
Set up engaging learning areas indoors and outdoors
Monitor and report on pupil progress
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience with EYFS, nurseries, or early years support
Confidence in communication and care routines
Warm, patient, and proactive approach
Basic knowledge of phonics and early development
Ability to adapt to individual needs
Team mindset with strong reliability
