Job Description

We’re looking for an Inclusion Champion to support pupils with autism and moderate learning difficulties at a vibrant Birmingham SEND school. This role is about creating moments of connection that lead to growth — helping each child build confidence, communication skills, and emotional regulation. You’ll work alongside a skilled, caring team to provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom. Each day brings variety and purpose: guiding sensory sessions, supporting small-group work, or helping pupils transition calmly between activities. The ideal candidate will have a calm, consistent presence and a genuine belief in every child’s potential. This is an opportunity to make real change where it matters most — in the everyday lives of children who need a champion.

Job Responsibilities:
Support pupils’ learning and wellbeing in structured, supportive environments
Assist with sensory and communication programmes designed by therapists
Build trusted relationships with pupils through empathy and consistency
Promote independence and engagement across all activities

Desired Experience
+ Qualifications

Experience working with pupils with autism, SEMH, or learning difficulties
Calm and compassionate approach to behaviour and emotional needs
Ability to adapt teaching and communication strategies
A passion for inclusive education and personal growth

Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Our HR and Safeguarding team will be there to support you throughout the process.

But, I don’t want to register with a supply agency, why should I sign up with Milestone?

We get it. Supply agencies can’t always deliver exactly what you’re looking for, but that’s where we’re different…

We’re an education platform service who partner with schools and MATs to support their recruitment, training and wellbeing needs. It’s in our interest to secure you a role you’ll love, in a setting you’ll want to stay in, with a view to progressing your career. If that’s what you want!

How much does it cost and how much will I be paid?

Our services to you are completely free.

Costs will only incur if you require a new DBS or OSPC, but don't worry - we can still put you forward for interviews while the applications in process, so you won't miss out on all the exciting opportunities!

All roles are paid in line with Teachers Pay and Conditions, or are matched with each school’s salary guidelines for the role you undertake. We'll always negotiate the best possible pay rates that reflect your hard work, experience and qualifications.
