Job Description
This role suits someone who believes that connection drives progress. As an Inclusion Key Worker, you’ll support pupils with complex social, emotional, and learning needs in a specialist setting in Coventry. Your work will be split between in-class support, emotional coaching, and helping pupils access structured learning through achievable steps. You’ll collaborate with therapists, support staff, and SENCOs to tailor strategies that reduce anxiety and increase engagement. The school embraces sensory regulation, visual supports, and pupil-led approaches, so you’ll have the tools to intervene early rather than reactively. This is a proactive, relationship-orientated role, not a behaviour firefighting post. If you have patience, intuition, and resilience, you’ll find real scope to influence outcomes and gain specialist experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build trusted relationships with pupils facing SEND and SEMH barriers
Implement regulation and communication strategies
Support EHCP targets with practical interventions
Monitor daily engagement and emotional presentation
Work alongside teaching and therapy teams
Provide structured support in and out of class
Desired Experience
+ Qualifications
Experience in SEND or SEMH support roles
Confident in de-escalation and emotional coaching
Strong teamwork and reflective practice
Reliable, calm, and positive approach
Understanding of inclusive learning strategies
Desire to develop long-term within SEND
