Job Description

We’re seeking a Learning Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in Warwickshire. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with children who need a little extra guidance — academically, socially, or emotionally. You’ll support pupils who may be struggling with motivation, focus, or behaviour, helping them re-engage with learning and develop positive routines. Every day will bring meaningful interactions: listening to pupils, celebrating small wins, and supporting teachers in building a nurturing classroom environment. This school places real value on staff who can bring empathy and structure in equal measure. You’ll receive strong guidance from the pastoral and SEN team, as well as opportunities for training and career development. It’s a role that suits those who believe in second chances — and in the power of calm consistency.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to pupils needing additional support
Implement behaviour and engagement strategies set by the SENCO or pastoral team
Track and report on pupil progress, attendance, and wellbeing indicators
Build trusting relationships that support resilience and emotional growth

Desired Experience
+ Qualifications

Previous experience working with children in a school or youth setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and motivate learners
Commitment to inclusion and pupil development

About the School

The school’s leadership team prioritises inclusion and pupil wellbeing, ensuring that every child — regardless of background or need — has access to high-quality learning and emotional support. With a strong pastoral network, the school runs enrichment programmes, restorative circles, and family engagement initiatives that create a real sense of community. Staff collaborate across year groups to share best practice, supported by leadership that genuinely listens. Ofsted commended the school’s culture of respect, teamwork, and ambition. For a Learning Mentor who wants to make visible impact and feel valued, this school offers both challenge and fulfilment in equal measure.

What do I need?

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

That’s it! Our process is simple, and our consultants will advise on how to fast track your checks so you can start working ASAP.

Equal Opportunities Employer

Milestone Education is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Our HR and Safeguarding team will be there to support you throughout the process.

But, I don’t want to register with a supply agency, why should I sign up with Milestone?

We get it. Supply agencies can’t always deliver exactly what you’re looking for, but that’s where we’re different…

We’re an education platform service who partner with schools and MATs to support their recruitment, training and wellbeing needs. It’s in our interest to secure you a role you’ll love, in a setting you’ll want to stay in, with a view to progressing your career. If that’s what you want!

Our HR and Safeguarding team consistently go the extra mile to complete your checks as quickly as possible - at no cost to you. To put so much hard work and valuable time into completing these checks and then NOT deliver the opportunities you are looking for…? Well, we’d go out of business pretty quickly!

How much does it cost and how much will I be paid?

Our services to you are completely free.

Costs will only incur if you require a new DBS or OSPC, but don't worry - we can still put you forward for interviews while the applications in process, so you won't miss out on all the exciting opportunities!

All roles are paid in line with Teachers Pay and Conditions, or are matched with each school’s salary guidelines for the role you undertake. We'll always negotiate the best possible pay rates that reflect your hard work, experience and qualifications.
