Job Description
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building trust through play, conversation and gentle guidance. As a Learning Play Mentor, you’ll support pupils who need help with focus, emotional regulation or confidence in group settings. You’ll assist teachers during lessons, lead small intervention groups and create calm breakout spaces when needed. The role blends classroom support with pastoral care, making it ideal for someone interested in early intervention, child development or future teaching pathways. You’ll work closely with parents, SENCO staff and wellbeing leads to ensure each child feels seen and supported.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring through structured play
Support lesson activities and encourage positive engagement
Create safe spaces to help children reset emotionally
Track pupil progress and share observations with staff

Experience with primary-aged children in school or youth settings
Warm communication and patience in busy classrooms
