Job Description

As a Nurture and Learning Companion you will support Key Stage 1 pupils who benefit from gentle structure emotional reassurance and targeted learning routines. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide one to one and small group guidance during reading writing and maths while also helping pupils develop social skills independence and classroom resilience.

Your role involves helping children settle into the school day regulating emotions during busy moments and breaking down tasks into manageable steps. You may work with pupils experiencing mild anxiety emerging SEND needs delays in speech and language or gaps in learning. You will use visual supports clear routines and positive reinforcement to create a classroom experience that feels safe predictable and encouraging for each child.

This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys seeing children grow in confidence through warm connection steady guidance and carefully scaffolded learning experiences.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide one to one and small group support during core subjects
Help children regulate emotions during transitions and busy times

Share observations with the teacher to inform planning
